This will be a short entry as today is another sea day and we're on our way to Barcelona. We took it easy, laid out on the deck for a while and then went to see Vicki Christina Barcelona in the Screening Room This afternoon we went to a magic show. I find it interesting that they try to coordinate the movies with the ports of call whenever possible. This is a good film. We had seen it before but we enjoyed it as much this time as we did the first.
Leo Ward, the magician we saw earlier in the cruise, showed us some of his card tricks and we got tips on how to do a few of them. Frank plans on tricking the grandboys as soon as he perfects these.
Tonight is the last night for some of the people on this cruise since they will be getting off in Barcelona. We have to say goodbye to two of our table mates who live in Chicago. We will miss Joe and Betty as they were a delightful couple and we have really enjoyed their company.
We attended a show in the Queen's Lounge before dinner. It is the smaller of the two showrooms. There we were entertained by the HAL singers. It was musical a tribute to Broadway.
It has become a tradition on HAL to have Baked Alaska on the last night on board. We had a delicious meal of baked Brie which was beautifully presented, followed by Prime Rib,
and then they had the parade of the chefs and waiters with the Baked Alaska.
They used to come out with it flaming, but because of the fire hazard, they don't do that anymore. We were told that over half of the passengers will disembark here, but we'll be picking up new ones in Barcelona. We're really looking forward to Barcelona. It will be our first time there and we know that we are in for a real treat.
XOXO, Pcasso
Thanks for the wonderful trip. Every time I see the beautiful entries I get a big appetite.
