THE PINNACLE GRILL ... AN EPICUREAN'S DELIGHT

Today's entry is dedicated to all of you who love food and who love to eat. I know that we certainly do. It's one of our favorite pastimes and I hope that it's yours as well.

Today was a sea day and what a wonderful day it has been. We slept late and had a light breakfast at 10:30 in the Lido. Luckily it was still open. I suppose that is because it's Sunday as they normally stop serving breakfast at 10:00. After breakfast we had a Bloody Mary and waited for the movie to begin in the Screening Room.

The place was almost full when we arrived as people go there and read while waiting for the film to start. The little man on the front row reminded me of George Burns!

The movie that was showing was "State of Play" and it was a great film. The film tells of a journalist's probe into the suspicious death of a Congressman's mistress. Russell Crowe plays the journalist and Ben Affleck plays the Congressman.
They even had popcorn for us to nibble on while the film was on. It was a great way to spend an early afternoon.

After the movie we came back to the suite and played Gin. I'm beating the pants off of Frank but I'm sure that the tide will turn, unfortunately. However, as this doesn't happen very often, so I'm loving every minute of it!
The entertainment in the showroom was very good and when we left the show, we had dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. Our travel agent, Ruth, had made arrangements for us to have dinner there as her guest. Wish she could have been with us to share this wonderful experience. We certainly thank her for this treat.
As Frank was making the wine selection, I was trying to decided what I was going to eat while I sipped on a glass of Chardonnay.

We started with some sort of wonderful baked tidbit that was compliments of the chef which was followed by a salad of fresh Beefsteak tomatoes with a delicious dressing.

Next came the crab cakes (I must admit that one would have certainly been enough). The presentation of all of this delicious food was wonderful which is always 9/10ths of the of the pleasure of the dining experience.

This was followed by our entree of a 10 ounce Sirloin Strip with Beurre Blanc, which, translated from French as "white butter"— is a rich, hot butter sauce made with a reduction of white wine and it was absolutely delicious.

We shared a bottle of Cabernet and finished our meal with coffee and a Chocolate Souffle. It was almost as good as the one that I make!

It was, by far, one of the best meals that we have had so far on this trip.
With full tummies and smiles on our faces, we toddled off to bed. We will be in Sicily tomorrow and need to get our beauty sleep so we can face another great day.

XOXO, Pcasso
